WRC18 is a platform which highlights the work of women journalists and researchers who are covering the following 18 conflict areas of the world:
Balkans / Caucasus / Central Africa / Central Asia / Eastern Europe / Eastern Mediterranean / Horn of Africa / Mexico and Central America / Middle East / North Africa / North East Asia / Sahel / Southern Africa / South America / South Asia / South East Asia / Western Africa / The Caribbean
In every episode women working on conflict areas as journalists, photographers, researchers or analysts will discuss their work, provide insight, talk about safety and at times obstacles to their journalistic freedom or restrictions on their research.
The issues discussed in the podcasts relate to areas which are at war or which are experiencing internal violence and unrest, either caused by state oppression, violent extremism or suffering from entrenched unresolved historical conflicts.
